Our Beginnings

MAP was founded in the year 2000 by Sonny Childs and his wife, Cindy. They had always had a deep belief that, often times, the youth of the Church was neglected. They began MAP to be a program that would help nurture and grow the Church of the future, as well as the Church of today.

Us Today

Now, more than 20 years after the start of MAP, we have been able to train hundreds of young people during our summer events. We have also had the privilege of training many, many more during our other events throughout the year. Our MAPsters have been phenomenal in their congregations and communities. We have had MAPsters in a vast number of areas including book writers, professional therapists, full-time ministers, foreign missionaries, and many more. We praise God for all that He has done through MAP and pray that He continues to use us for His purposes.

Over the years, MAP has expanded its dream to include not just young people, but anyone who is looking for a way to serve in God’s kingdom. Whether in high school, fresh out of college, retired, or working, if you want to be a part of God’s mission we want to help. MAP is dedicated to giving the Church the tools she needs to spread the Gospel both at home and abroad. To accomplish this, MAP has developed a summer program where MAPsters will gain the knowledge they need to enter the mission field and a nine-month internship where MAPsters can put that knowledge into practice.

MAP has a wonderful group who works tirelessly to grow our program, not just numerically or financially but, more importantly, spiritually. Every board and staff member is dedicated to The Lord’s service and works in some other type of ministerial role outside of MAP.
